Rumors About Apple MacBook Air with Retina Display

Even though Apple has used Retina display on a bunch of its MacBooks, they have yet to announce the release of a low cost Mac using Retina. So far, nothing has been made official and the only things we have are just rumors, but everyone has their hopes up that 2015 will be the year in which Apple will finally decide to grant our wish.

Rumor has it that a new MacBook air with Retina Display will be released in early 2015.

MacBook air has been a success worldwide and it has proven that there are still new things to check out when it comes to the huge PC market. Although no huge improvements have been made to the MacBook Air in 2014, the most substantial difference is a drop of about $140 in its price.

For the upcoming year, upgrades to the new MacBook Air are surely expected and the first upgrade people have in mind is including a Retina display. Even though the current resolution of 1440×900 of the MacBook is quite decent, it is nothing compared to the beautiful Retina display of the MacBook Pro. Many Apple fans expected the MacBook Air with a Retina screen to be released in 2014 and were somewhat disappointed when they saw that Apple ignored it in the product announcements of this October.

The main reason behind the delay of the release is the fact that you need serious CPU power to be able to sustain a full Retina display, without having a great chipset your battery draining a lot faster. Intel comes to resolve this problem by introducing the new Broadwell processors but even though they were expected to come out on the market in 2014, a series of delays pushed the company to release its new CPU in 2015. With the arrival of the new Intel processors we should certainly be looking forward to the release of a MacBook Air with high definition screen, without having to sacrifice a lot of battery life, especially since Apple shows off the fact that their Macs can sustain sessions of up to 10 hours. However, if Apple is not actually expecting the release of the new CPU, the MacBook Air will most likely use Intel Core i5 or i7 chipsets.

Another rumor of the new MacBook Air revolves around the colors in which it will be released. It is expected that Apple will give up on its all Silver livery and introduce other colors in which you can purchase the Mac. These colors will be the same as the ones in which you can purchase iPhone 6 in.

Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has even predicted a new look for the 12 in MacBook air which will also have a brand new HD display. Given the impressing portfolio of the above mentioned analyst in regards Apple products, fans must keep their hopes up and their eyes open for the upcoming line of MacBook Airs. The new look is rumored to consist of a much slimmer casing, the lack of the mechanical button on the touchpad and also a new design concentrated on the lack of cooling fans.

Given the fact that Apple fans have been waiting for the release of the new MacBook Air since the middle of 2014, any type of upgrades will be well seen. As long as Apple takes into consideration their customer’s opinions and include the implementation of a Retina display in the specs of their new Mac, all other upgrades will come just as a plus.

Also, since the 11-inch and the 13-inch MacBook Airs are currently seen as extremes, we should expect that only the 12-in MacBook Air will be left standing. The 13-inch MacBook Air has revealed that Apple can still make their Macs smaller without compromising the overall size of the keyboard.

With all these facts and rumors, one thing is certain: everybody is looking forward to seeing what the new MacBook Air has to offer.
